Hello Everyone. I appreciate you visiting the site and reading my blog; it’s good to see those pretty eyes again.
Happy Good Friday, everyone! How was everyone’s week? I was so excited about this week that if you ask me, I would tell you the week flew by really fast, maybe because I knew the weekend started early. I am forever grateful for public holidays because it gives me time to catch up with myself and keep up with sleep. Think about it: I’m entering a new week with only four days to go to work, and boom, another weekend is upon us. Yeah, I know it’s maybe odd how I’m already looking forward to another weekend when I have not even gotten through this one, but that’s just me.
My week was filled with good news and good things happening. Where do I start? First off, I got accepted into the Alx data analytics program I have been planning to do since I got my virtual assistance certificate last year from the same Alx. At first, I was a bit down this week because they sent me an acceptance letter for software engineering and not the data analytics position I applied for. I didn’t know how to complain or reach out, plus I didn’t want to think too much about it, so I just set it aside. The next day I got an email apologizing for the mistake and saying that there had been a glitch and they would send me the correct acceptance letter, which I got the next day. This made me extremely excited. Congratulations to me!🎉🥳
Secondly, my boss has finally hired another staff member, which reduces my workload and responsibilities and allows me to have more time to myself and not always be drowning at work. I still have to onboard and teach her how things are done and about the products, which is a lot of work because I don’t think she really understands things quickly, but she is picking things up slowly. She created double work for me this week; she mixed up customers’ orders and gave some the wrong product, so we had to call back the orders we sent out that day and do damage control. In all this, I was not bothered because it was no longer my responsibility, and I can’t be the one to be blamed; she is the person who hired her. At least I handled the situation and did damage control without customers losing their cool.
Thirdly, I would be getting an increase in pay this month. My boss finally spoke to me about my not being happy and complaining about the pay, which is what brought about her hiring this new staff that joined us this April. Now here is the funny part: she said she was going to send me a new offer letter concerning this new agreement this week, and to date I have not heard anything from her, and personally I decided not to remind her. I am just going to be watching her. So yeah, I finally get to be paid more for my smart ass and my hard work. Congratulations to me once again!
